A truly wonderful exhibition - some familiar paintings and some new ones. I wondered whether his heavy individual brustrokes would work well as a reduction linocut? something to try. I loved his boldness in composition - following his interests in the modern/ancient landscape, and the undergrowth of greenery under trees. Definitely not the conventional. Also - he felt free to paint from a drawing made by his friend. a joint effort. I loved the landscapes and olive trees with the cloud formations;. Wonderful carved shapes. I spent ages looking at his brush strokes - following contours, and making patterns. Also the portraits and landscapes that appeared natural but were actually his imagination. As well as the thrilling colours which I know and love.
